A beautiful Life – by Cate Clare

This book is written by Cate, one of Skies previous students. Cate is a teacher now in her own right after embarking on a dedicated and committed Journey with Skie as her shamanic mentor and guide. Cates realisations on the Medicine Wheel and her life experience make this a deeply personal but often hilarious and heartmoving journey on a shamanic journey.

This is the story of Cate unravelling childhood wounds, facing adult fears and finding a new way to experience the magic and beauty of the world. Part memoir, part insight into key shamanic principles and part a creative dip into her time as a singer songwriter. Funny in places and difficult in others, she cover topics such as depression, suicide, heartbreak and abuse. Cate also talks about joy, purpose, love and being a Mother. If you have ever been interested in plant medicines or shamanism this is a good story about their positive effects and how she has integrated their healing into her life. This book is an account of Cate’s  journey from a traumatic childhood and abusive Mother to acceptance and forgiveness. After experiencing a mental health crisis including suicidal thoughts she started working with Ayahuasca and shamanism which changed her life and possibly even saved it. Cate found deep healing specifically using the shamanic practices of the people of the Peruvian Andes mountains, the Q’ero people. Their practices are common in many shamanic communities the world over. Cate was fortunate enough to find amazing teachers here in the UK and in Peru, had many initiations and a lot of healing. Cate has completed and now teaches the Peruvian Medicine Wheel which she learnt from Skie Hummingbird.
